Construction Field Engineer - Building Group

Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking a mid-level Construction Field Engineer to support project engineering, controls, field operations, and estimating activities in the greater Honolulu market. The role combines jobsite coordination with office-based project documentation and cost support.

Project Details

The Building Group delivers office, industrial, education, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, technology, manufacturing, retail, and tenant improvement projects using general construction, construction management, design-build, and related delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents, calculate installed quantities, prepare work packages, and support surveying, layout, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate materials, work groups, subcontractors, schedules, safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and jobsite operations.
• Prepare takeoffs, engineering calculations, submittal information, purchase orders, subcontract support, daily records, RFIs, cost data, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Support estimating through plan reviews, risk identification, historical cost analysis, production analysis, and bid quantity takeoffs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of construction experience, preferably in vertical construction.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, unit man-hour performance, material control, estimating, and subcontract administration.
• Strong communication, planning, organization, leadership, and people-management skills.
• Ability to work safely, meet deadlines, work overtime or weekends when needed, and relocate or travel as assignments require.

Compensation and Benefits
