Job Summary

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking an entry-level Building Mechanical Engineer for its architecture and engineering group in Lone Tree, Colorado. The role supports the development of practical, constructible designs for industrial and water-related facilities.

Project Details

Projects may include industrial buildings, offices, server rooms, warehouses, process facilities, and water and wastewater infrastructure. Work involves building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within industrial and administrative facilities.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC, plumbing, lighting, power, controls, equipment sizing, and equipment selection under the direction of experienced engineers.
• Produce design drawings and specifications for contractor bidding packages.
• Assist with technical bid evaluations and review construction submittals.
• Check HVAC and plumbing installations for compliance with design requirements.
• Review 3D models for coordination, interference detection, and constructability.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an MEP focus.
• Zero to two years of industry experience; a GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is required.
• Exposure to Trane TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP is preferred, and passing the FE exam is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work safely during regular hours, overtime, and weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $84,000-$93,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
