Abilene Fiber Superintendent Data Center

Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring a Fiber Superintendent to lead field execution for a major data center project in Abilene, Texas. The role directs fiber construction crews and subcontractors while maintaining safety, quality, production, and schedule performance.

Project Details

The position supports large-scale mission-critical data center construction involving OSP and ISP fiber infrastructure, including pathways, racks, cabinets, patching, splicing, testing, and turnover documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple crews performing conduit, innerduct, fiber pulling, routing, splicing, testing, and rack installation.
• Coordinate daily work, sequencing, manpower, materials, equipment, and production targets.
• Conduct field walks, safety meetings, and job hazard analyses while enforcing site safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the general contractor, client, other trades, project engineers, and field engineers.
• Manage subcontractor performance and resolve production or field execution issues.
• Review drawings and specifications and maintain redlines, as-builts, RFIs, and turnover packages.

Required Experience

• Seven or more years of fiber optic construction experience with progressive field leadership.
• Experience leading OSP and/or ISP installation crews.
• Working knowledge of conduit and innerduct systems, fiber installation, splicing, testing, and data center fiber infrastructure.
• Experience with construction activity management, manpower coordination, production tracking, and subcontractor oversight.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications and coordinate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Data center or mission-critical experience, design-build or EPC background, commissioning familiarity, and OSHA safety training are preferred.
